چکیده

Abstract. Peritoneal dialysis (PD)-associated peritonitis can lead to dysfunction in PD delivery as a result of thickening the peritoneal membrane, usually due recurrent peritonitis, and with ileus or intestinal perforation. This study sought investigate risk factors that mortality patients receiving who underwent surgery for peritonitis.
Methods. The was designed retrospective observational included 36 received surgical treatment between 2011 2020. Data on patient demographics, comorbid diseases, duration application, number episodes PD, procedures performed postsurgical morbidity rates were collected.
Results. It found increased advancing age coronary artery disease (CAD) compared those without CAD, this increase statistically significant (p = 0.002). In addition, it determined accompanying cirrhosis significantly elderly 0.043). considering performed, segmental small-bowel resection (n 16) mostly perforation, no additional pathological findings other than encountered 12 patients. Mortality occurred eight advanced-age group one among operated peritonitis. No difference rate according procedure 0.512). Binary logistic regression analysis applied age, coroner diseases (CAD), time mortality. Respectively, (odds ratio [OR]= 1.09; 95% Cl [1.013-1.193]; p=0.024), CAD [OR] 43.7; [5.191-368.755]; p <.001 1.786; [1.060-3.010]; p=0.029 calculated.
Conclusions. by 1.09 times each one-year after 52.5 years also 43.7 times. Prolonged especially 11.5 months, peritonitis-related 1.7 We propose since interventions may be PD; do not mortality, an appropriate safely experienced centers before is too late.

Risk Factors Associated with Peritoneal-Dialysis-Related Peritonitis

Background. Peritonitis represents a major complication of peritoneal dialysis (PD). The aim of this paper was to systematically collect data on patient-related risk factors for PD-associated peritonitis, to analyze the methodological quality of these studies, and to summarize published evidence on the particular risk factors. Methods. Studies were identified by searches of Pubmed (1990-2012) a...

The impact of peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis on mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients

BACKGROUND Results concerning the association between peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis and mortality in peritoneal dialysis patients are inconclusive, with one potential reason being that the time-dependent effect of peritonitis has rarely been considered in previous studies. This study aimed to evaluate whether peritonitis has a negative impact on mortality in a large cohort of peritone...

Risk factors for mortality in diabetic peritoneal dialysis patients.

BACKGROUND It is well established that the survival rate of diabetic end-stage renal disease patients remains the lowest among all primary diagnoses probably because of higher prevalence of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) associated with diabetes. This study was designed to evaluate the impact of CVD and other risk factors individually or in combination on mortality in diabetic peritoneal dialysi...
